It’s our 244th birthday and there’s an Eclipse on our birthday! Surprise – here comes “Change with a Capital C!” America’s chaotic Unconscious has brought about a moment of Collective-Self-Reflection. America has entered its Soul-Reckoning. “Existential Crisis.”
This is not a random event. Coronavirus delivered a moment of global synchronicity. Not since the infamous 12/21/2012 “End-Time” of the Mayan Calendar has the world paused in a moment of synchronicity – “waiting for the other shoe to drop.”
There’s good news and there’s not-so-good-news!
America’s Founding Fathers were slave-owners. The Pursuit of Happiness is guaranteed for everyone in this country except people with vaginas and non-whites. It’s time to re-write “white history” to make it more inclusive (that is – to include people with vaginas and non-whites).
If America was a ‘reality-TV-show’ we’d be The Khardasians. America is going to be quarantined to protect the rest of the world. We can’t seem to do it ourselves – so the rest of the world will put us on lockdown to protect their citizens from US.
As Abe Lincoln said – “united we stand – divided we all.” America is falling and the GOP is imploding. America demands the right the choose whether to wear a mask OR NOT (read more here). It rarely occurs to America to wear a mask to protect others – after all – America is home of the free and land of the brave and America takes great pride in its freedom of choice.
People cannot – will-not hear anything that disagrees with their own world view. It’s a bias and one shared by people all around the world. Ever heard of Jane Elliot (she upset the ‘racism’ apple cart of education back in the 60’s – click here)? Racism is about 500 years old. Prejudice is an emotional commitment to ignorance. And guess what? We all started out black – because we all share the same ancestors – same family – HUMAN. You and I are 30th – 50th cousins. One race – one face – HUMAN!
Jane Elliott: I want every white person in this room, who would be happy to be treated as this society in general treats our citizens, our black citizens. If you as a white person would be happy to receive the same treatment that our black citizens do in this society – please stand! – You didn’t understand the directions. If you white folks want to be treated the way blacks are in this society – stand! – Nobody is standing here. That says very plainly that you know what’s happening. You know you don’t want it for you. I want to know why you are so willing to accept it or to allow it to happen for others.
Native Americans are America’s ‘original sin.’ You can read about the genocide here. Hitler’s extermination of Jews was child’s play compared to America. But then – America lives in a ‘post-fact‘ world and we do NOT teach that in school.
Psychoanalyst Joyce McDougall coined the term normopathy to describe an excessive—and pathological—attachment and adaptation to conventional social norms. Without a ‘sense of self’ – normopathic people have an abnormal desire to fit in – fearing rejection – leaving them unable to express their own individuality.
If you want to watch America’s progress (and it will take about 8 years to get through this part – but the next 2 years will see great acceleration) – watch the story of the name-change of the Washington Redskins. Don’t be surprised when the Constitution gets a refresh around 2024 too – to be more inclusive + contextually accurate.
We’re used to top-down-command-and-control – but wait – that’s changing. The transition we are witnessing is bottom-up-grassroots-movement. We despise in others what we fear the most. The trick is to figure out “why am I afraid of those people?” Dig deep into the shadows and the answer will appear. Here’s a clue – it has something to do with a fear you were taught as a child. And it’s very messy to look inside. It will make you very uncomfortable!
Corporate America is in deep-do-do. With the Virus lockdown spending habits changed dramatically. We purchased ONLY the essentials. Corporations will leverage ad dollars now to force Moral Choices – they understand what leaders cannot see yet. What’s best for everyone (including share-holders)? When people stop spending money on non-essentials – their shareholders lose money. Many understand they have to ability to affect great change. “We the People” have had the power all along – but didn’t know it was hiding in our wallets. Stop spending money – and business notices. It requires self-control of an addiction we call “retail-therapy.” We do it to “feel better.”
Coronavirus showed us how woefully dysfunctional our Healthcare (Sickcare) System is (among many other things – that’s another post). America has the supposed best healthcare in the world – but only the wealthy can afford healthcare. People die from many more diseases than the Virus because they can’t afford to seek treatment. It’s called Wealth Inequality. Chances are good we’ll see Universal Healthcare in the next 2-4 years. Of course – Big Pharma and Insurance companies will NOT be happy with this – but in the end – those willing to change will survive. Change or die is the new Corporate Mantra now.
Since Coronavirus is going to be around for awhile – the White House has said “learn to live with it.” Their goal now is to focus on the economy and moving forward. This is a gift – whether we realize it or not (Nature has a few tricks up her sleeve yet). Individuals are being tasked with being their own parent now – it’s called Adulting. Taking responsibility for self is taking your power back. Taking responsibility for Self requires extreme patience – focus – discipline – perseverance. There’s not going to be a quick fix – no matter how many band-aids used.
We have to choose – country or party – health or wealth – people or profit. It’s going to be messy. We’re on one planet but 2 Earth’s exist! Pay attention to Gen Z – they’re onto something here – read how they’re turning stagnation into transformation here.
Take control of your own life. One of the best things that will come out of the 2020 election is birthing a 3rd party. There are people on BOTH sides who understand the need for change. We have Democrat (left) – Republican (right) – and Independent (unaffiliated). We’ll mix-and-match. We’ll see a new option in 2022.
The question is “what’s best for everyone?” We’re talking the WHOLE PLANET! It’s in our communities that strength and help will be found. Be kind to others. Be gentle with yourself and others. If June was a Yin month – then July is going to be a Yang month. Spend your money mindfully. When we spend – we’re putting our money where our mouth is.
Can you delay your own self-gratification for moment in time to change the world? It requires extreme focus – patience – determination – perseverance. Can you be ‘socially responsible’ with your purchases? Nature will keep hammering us until we get it! Anyone alive during this change is supposed to be here and we are actively participating in something much bigger than we can imagine right now. America will find her Soul and play ‘nice’ with the rest of the world! The New Normal arrives December 21, 2020 – when the planet begins a new 200-year cycle. Be a Futurist! In the end – Man cannot control Nature – we’ll bow to Her.
